Gary paulsen wrote over two hundred books
Each book was an insperation of something or someone
When he wrote Hatchet his insperation was a freak accident that had happened to his cousin a month before
The book was wrote to gradify him
When gary paulsen was a boy he ran away from home to join the carnival
Many think that this made Gary Paulsen the writing that he is known for but alot say that this had nothing to do with it
His eyes were blue and green
He is an oudoors man and that is why most of his books are about the outdoors.
in his free time, he likes to trap, fish, and hunt
he could be classified as the All-American redneck.
He wrote multiple palys in his time including big production plays and oprahs
One day he walked into the library to escape the cold
when he was in there the libraryian offered him a library card and a book to read, this opened his mind to wrtiting
His books will show up on the ALA besst books
This even helped Paulsen deal with his multiple family problems at this time in his life
worked at many jobs trying to support himself including....
migrant worker, soldier, field engineer, truck driver, and magazine editor
Paulsen competed in 2 Iditarod which led him to write a few of his books
Alot of his books are about how water and nature mix together to form the harmony of nature
When he writes, he is very sensitive about what he says

Paulsen has wrote fiction, non-fiction, and even drama's
His most popular books are his non-fiction books, wrote about the out doors and overcoming an obsticle
He wrights about abandoned, runaway, and drunk kids
He writes about all the bitter days and bitter nights these kids would go through
This was the landmark of all his writing
At the end of the book there would be a gasp of air saying "I made it"
When Paulsen were to write, he would'nt make it up word by word
When Gary wrote he wrote what he lived, he didnt just decided to write about the outdoors
He lived it
Paulse never spent more than 5 months at one school
This could have led to the decision of running away from his family at the age of 14
Most books were pertrayed on his own life happenings
When he was young and the living conditions were bad, he would be shipped to his grandma's or aunts
This was mentioned in the book "the Cookcamp"
He really connected to the library because the librarian would give him a book and let him take it home
no matter what he wore, who he dated, or who is parents were
To the librarian, nothing mattered,
this is what kept him coming back, he felt that someone could actually like him for who he is
The librarian befriended him the first time they met, that clicked something in his brain
